About AIFiMM

AIFIMM is a postgraduate training institute specializing in musculoskeletal biomechanics for physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals. Founded in Genova, Italy, in 1996.

Over nearly three decades, we have developed a physics-based clinical reasoning model that connects vector analysis of muscular forces to therapeutic decision-making in joint and spinal pathologies. The model originated from the clinical work of Françoise Mézières and has been progressively formalized into verifiable biomechanical principles.

More than 6,000 physiotherapists have completed our postgraduate courses. Over 300 courses delivered since 1997.

AIFIMM is independently accredited as a continuing education provider in three systems:

• Italy — ECM Provider No. 1701 (Ministry of Health)
• UK — CPD Provider No. 21418 (The CPD Certification Service)
• USA — CE Broker Provider ID 50-54885 (Florida)

Our training is led by Mauro Lastrico, PT, and Laura Manni, PT, who trained directly with Françoise Mézières in Paris (1988–1990) and have over 40 years of clinical experience.

Teaching quality is documented through 6,147 official evaluations collected by the Italian Ministry of Health (1997–2024): 71% rated overall quality excellent, 77% rated practical content delivery excellent, over 90% would recommend the course to a colleague.
